I had my facility, All-Star Sports Academy, in Toms River, NJ all to myself today.
After 2 not-so-great exercise weeks (chronic pain issues…yep, I get them, too,) it was good to get back to work. I’ve dealt with chronic low back pain since 2004 as a result of herniated discs.
Of course, we all know that if you don’t post your workout, it’s not as anabolic and doesn’t really count! That’s the social media effect on muscle development and fitness (duh!) So, of course, on to social media I went. But that was a sideshow, really.
The most important thing I got from my 40 minute circuit training session today wasn’t “the burn” or some kind of mystical transformation. I didn’t have any deep thoughts or amazing revelations while training, either.
It was simply a chance to get my health and fitness habits back on track.
You see, even people who are strength coaches, personal trainers and fitness coaches can get their habits derailed, too. Sometimes we even ask for help from another coach, just to jump-start the process!
Step 1 is done. Now I can take more steps and keep moving in the right direction. If you’re stuck and wondering how to take that first step, don’t let it stress you out. You’re definitely not alone!
